Terms of Service
Last updated: April 2026
1. What Thalam is
Thalam is an API gateway that gives you unified access to third-party AI models — text, image, and video — through a single API key. You prepay for credits and consume them per request. We do not train models ourselves; we route your requests to the underlying providers.
2. Your account
You must provide a valid email address and keep your password secure. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, including usage by anyone you share your API keys with. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at legal@thalam.ai.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
3. API key security
Your API keys are your credentials. Do not embed them in public code repositories, client-side JavaScript, or any environment that is not under your direct control. We are not liable for charges resulting from an exposed key. You can revoke and replace keys at any time from your dashboard.
4. Acceptable use
You may use Thalam to build products and services. You may not:
- Generate content that is illegal, defamatory, or intended to harass specific individuals
- Use the service to train competing AI models without our written permission
- Resell API access under the Thalam brand without a signed reseller agreement
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits, abuse the billing system, or reverse-engineer our infrastructure
- Violate the acceptable use policies of the underlying model providers (DeepSeek, Alibaba Cloud, Tencent, Kuaishou)
We reserve the right to determine what constitutes a violation and to act accordingly.
5. Billing and credits
The service runs on a prepaid credit model. You add funds to your balance and credits are deducted per request based on token usage. There is no monthly subscription.
Credits that have already been consumed cannot be refunded. If you have an unused balance and wish to close your account, contact us at legal@thalam.ai and we will assess refund eligibility on a case-by-case basis.
All prices are in US dollars. We may adjust pricing with 30 days notice.
6. Service availability
We make reasonable efforts to keep the service running, but we do not offer a formal SLA or uptime guarantee on the standard pay-as-you-go plan. Outages can occur due to issues with upstream model providers, infrastructure, or maintenance. We will communicate planned downtime where possible.
Enterprise customers with volume commitments may negotiate SLA terms separately.
7. Data and privacy
We log metadata about your API requests (model used, token counts, cost) for billing and abuse prevention. We do not persistently store the content of your prompts or model responses. See our for full details.
8. Termination
You can close your account at any time from your dashboard settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or pose a risk to the platform or other users. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before taking action, except in cases of serious abuse.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Thalam is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability in any given month is capped at the amount you paid us in that month.
We are not responsible for the output quality or accuracy of third-party AI models.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If the changes are material, we will notify you by email or by displaying a notice in your dashboard at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the UAE.
